A Beyonce billboard for a local radio station has some Las Vegas residents pissed. According to some puritanical locals (but really, if you’re so conservative, why do you live in Sin City?), the billboard of a bikini-clad Bey is obscene. I have a feeling if they saw pictures of this ghostly makeup job she was sporting in Korea this weekend, they would think the bikini pic was benign.

Please. If you have morals and standards, you don’t live in Vegas. The whole city offends me.
The make up is a bit… white. What’s with the new growth?
She just needs a little bronzer to warm up her face (an really easing up on the ambi wouldn’t hurt either), but otherwise the actual makeup job isn’t bad.
Actually Nevada is a red state. The 2-mile radius around the strip is very liberal, but the rest of the city isn’t. The city is very redneck and conservative, but you wouldn’t know it based on it’s reputation. I know Vegas well. My baby brother and his wife and kids live there as does my god mother. I also campaigned in Las Vegas (it was a battle ground state) with Planned Parenthood on behalf of John Kerry when he ran for president.
Are those color contacts? She’s looking like her mama and that is not a compliment.
Morals and political affiliation are not at all correlated.
I know. Neither are morals and the city you choose to live in. That was my point. People assume all of Las Vegas is what they see on TV, but there are familes and (Gasp!) people with good morals there, too. To assume that everyone living there must not have morals and standards means you A. don’t know anyone who lives there B. watch too much TV C. are just talking out of your ass.
Oh. And when your hair is “natural” you’re gonna have new growth. Duh!
WOW, THE FACE, THE HAIR, TODAY’S BLACK GIRLS A SURE PROUD TO BE BLACK! LOL
I don’t know anyone who lives there though I have a very hard time believing that a woman in a bikini is more offensive than the debauchery that the town itself promotes. I haven’t been thee as an adult, but I do remember a hell of a lot of women wearing little more than bikinis strolling down the street. It’s a part of LV culture. I am proud to be a bit of a prude (and a Planned Parenthood volunteer) and it is absolutely not where I would choose to live let alone raise a family. And I’m not offended by pictures of women in bikinis. That sort of prudish stuff is reserved for the burbs and PARTS of Bible Belt. You cannot keep a straight face while protesting such an ad in Las Vegas of all places. Times Square, which in my view is far more family friendly, has some ads (some men’s underwear ad last time I was there. Don’t remember the brand. Just saw giant package) that make me blush a little and no one’s complaining about that.
…and it’s so sweet of her to make a pilgrimage to the source of her hair
daria,
Mannnnn, speaking of new growth, mine is coming in like crazy! Time for another touch-up!! Maybe I’ll invite Beyonce to get her hair relaxed with me.
“If you come out here it now dominates the skyline. It just screams of degradation, it screams of ghettoizing a good neighborhood.”
A woman in a bikini (waist up, no cleavage or spilling over) is “ghetto.” The trashy lights, legalized prostitution, gambling and alcoholism don’t make the town ghetto. The ethnically ambiguous celebrity in a relatively toned down bikini on a billboard is what’s “ghettoizing” your “good neighborhood.” B—- please.
I hear you, and of course you’re entitled to your opinion. I’d say your slight bend toward prudishness is probably making you really bias b/c you’re argument is seems based on perception. I go to Vegas 10 or more times a year so I could be wrong.
It’s actually Reno, not Vegas. I’ve never been to Reno. My understanding is that it is similar to Vegas, but it’s tourism relies more on prostitution than Vegas. Oh that’s another thing. Beyonce in a bikini is making your neighborhood ghetto, but the government-sanctioned brothels are classy? Pfff.
Reno is lame. Mostly old people gambling.
The hell with the billboard complaint, the fashion police need to slap the shit out that chick for wearing that lipstick!
old people gambling and prostitutes. Charlie Sheen-used prostitutes no less. I cannot for the life of me understand why someone would sleep with a prostitute. Rubbing your genitals in a petri dish full of various STIs would be more sanitary. I still hold the view that most sex workers were raped as children.
I really don’t like red red lipstick on black people so no comment
I’ve seen her in person and I’ve seen her sans make-up in a couple pics. She’s really quite beautiful. She doesn’t need a ton of make-up for a regular old appearance. I could see maybe having heavier make-up for a performance, but not for press conferences and stuff.
God she looks like her mom.
You have to see the picture of the woman who’s complaining. She’s sitting under the billboard with the picture of Beyonce, which sits above… .wait for it… a freakin’ trailer park! If Beyonce was buck naked, sucking on a 40 in the billboard, she’d still raise the level of class in that neighborhood by 100 percent!
The picture is on the Racialicious.com site.
why is she acting like beyonce’ put the billboard up herself? lol! this could have been resolved on a local level! now this bitch and her wack ass town is getting publicity!
Looks like she’s trying her best to become completely “Creole”. Is she “bleaching”? What’s wrong with her original yellow/caramel skin?
Ya know, I fought and fought the notion, but her skin is too pale. I do believe she using too much Ambi. She’s going beyond Creole. I don’t know much about it, but does your skin go back to it’s normal color if you give up the bleach? Or does it always stay bleached?
Damn, B, I had your back! And you went and proved the haters right. It’s ok. I still love you.
