That got the co-hosts and the audience shouting over each other, but Wayans said a person’s reaction to a statement like that all depends on his or her perspective. “Black people at home are laughing right now,” he said. “White people are going, ‘That’s not right!’ It’s all cultural.”
It was just a few months ago that I was making fun of Damon Wayans for saying “Homey don’t play that,” in a message to his fans. But, you know, only because it seems odd that a guy who followed In Living Color with a pretty successful sitcom that’s now in syndication would still be relying on catchphrases from the early ’90s. But it wasn’t a one-time thing. This TMZ video shows that either Damon Wayans still thinks it’s funny and/or relevant or he thinks we do.

I can’t figure out what’s more interesting, that Damon Wayans skipped out on a gig in El Paso, TX because his friends couldn’t get into the club or the fact that he still relies on In Living Color for his punch lines.
In a posting on his MySpace page, Wayans accused the owner of Bart Reed’s Comic Strip of racism after two of his female friends were not let in fast enough at the door.
Wayans writes:
I apologize to my fans and friends for the el paso incident. i had great shows, standing ovations, and I felt the love for the people. However the owner of the club was being a racist prick and HOMIE DON’T PLAY THAT!
This wasn’t about anything but principle and how I felt I should be treated.

Here is the price a guy pays for directing his brothers in wildly popular movies instead of acting in them himself — the youth have no clue who the hell he is. TMZ filmed Keenan Ivory Wayans in LA Saturday night as fans screamed and chanted, uh, Damon’s name. He seems to revel in the fan love, despite their mistake. He takes it from wherever he can get it.
