Death Nell For JLo's Recording Career?

Kid Rock seems to think he’s a Rock & Roll genius, probably because all music, particularly rap, comes so easily to him. Some people — I don’t know who the hell they are — agreed with him, because his album debuted at No. 1.

Meanwhile, Kanye West is the only one representing for brown folks in the top ten, holding strong(er) at No. 6. And this week’s most disappointing and embarrassing debut? Jennifer Lopez’ Brave at No. 12 with 53,000 sold. Oh well, at least her family life is going well.

Kid Rock Appears In Videos Like Black Folks

It’s bad when I want to turn the video off before they even start playing the song. R. Kelly, Ludacris, and Kid Rock aren’t really bringing it, here. At all. If you aren’t going to do it right, what’s the point of filming a mini-movie instead of a video? Thriller, this is not.

We probably wouldn’t have known it happened if Jamie Foxx and Diddy had been able to keep from smugly mentioning Tommy Lee and Kid Rock’s display of “white-on-white” crime during Alicia Key’s performance VMA’s last night.

Watch them “fighting like black folks–” Jamie Foxx’s words, not mine, since they seem to be fighting like white folks to me — and pay close attention to Diddy in the middle of the melee and Beyonce’s shocked expression at the next table.

Kid Rock Could Write A Rap Song With Two Hands Tied Behind His Back

kidrock.jpg
Kid Rock has a deep respect for the music genre he appropriates. Did I say deep respect? I actually meant none at all.

Reverend Run, real name Joseph Simmons, recently confirmed an album with Kid Rock and the rock-rapper will also appear on Lil’ Jon’s album Crunk Rock, due for release later this year.

However the pair may reconsider working with him again after the rock-rapper branded their craft facile. He says, “Writing a rap, to me, is easy. I could write a rap like that. But writing songs and melodies and s*#t that’s hopefully going to stick around for 30, 40 years is f*#king hard.”

Well, when you consider songs like Cowboy to be actual rap, then of course it’s easy. Actual rappers may disagree that the only songs that have 30 - 40 years of longevity are the country rock ones this guy thinks he’s good at. Although D4L isn’t helping their case any.
