Omarion and Bow Wow are obviously trying to recreate some sort of Best of Both Worlds vibe with their new joint album, but they’re Bow Wow and Omarion. So we can predict how this is going to go, before we even see their so so clip for their lead single “Girlfriend.” Interestingly, Bow Wow had this to say about this track:
“[’Girlfriend’ is] probably gonna be one of the biggest records that I’ve ever done in my career,” he added.
But his career hasn’t even been that short!
Marques Houston, that girl from My Wife and Kids and a bunch of other D-F listers attended the premiere of Somebody Help Me, an “urban thriller” starring Houston and Omarion and directed by (surprise) Chris Stokes. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:
The screenplay centers on characters Brendan Young (Houston) and Darryl Jennings (Omarion) who take a trip to the Lake Arrowhead with a group of college friends to celebrate Young’s girlfriend’s birthday. One-by-one the coeds begin disappearing until a mysterious young visitor arrives and helps them begin to unravel their tangled web of terror.
Based on this plot summary, the fact that Omarion didn’t even show up to the premiere, and my own common sense, no one in their right mind is going to see this film. Pics of the random premiere-goers after the jump.

See the look on Nick Cannon’s face as he hosted last night’s Teen Choice Awards? I think we are witnessing the moment, captured for posterity by an ingenious photographer, when Nick Cannon officially realized he was too old for this shit.
And yet, the show had to go on. If you have even the slightest interest in who won what, you can find the list of winners here. If not, check out the stars in their teen-friendly award show gear after the jump.

Men’s fashion at an award show such as this is harder to judge, because many of the attendees arrive in the same clothes they would wear to the grocery store, the club, or the annual pimp convention — none of which are good looks. Don Cheadle, who won the humanitarian award for his work in Darfur, looks pretty dapper (and he gave a great acceptance speech). I can’t say the same for all of the guys in attendance. See for yourself after the jump.

Despite Rihanna’s rather suspect pronunciation of the word “umbrella,” her song of the same name is at the top of the UK charts based on downloads alone. Apparently, this is a ground-breaking achievement, since her album is not yet “available in the shops.”
She performed her downloadable hit at Z100’s Zootopia concert in New York Friday, and shared the stage with Robin Thicke, Omarion, Fergie, Hilary Duff and others. Check out some pics of the other performers below.

What will Bow Wow and Omarion name their new album? I like The Fourth Or Fifth Best Of Both Worlds. It has a certain ring to it, but it may be a bit generous.
Bow Wow tells Billboard.com that he and Omarion expect to hit the studio before the end of May. “Me and O have been trying to put this together for so many years, and now we’ve got the opportunity to do it,” he says. “We’re in the creative process right now, still trying to come up with a title and everything. Me and him are coming up with ideas daily, so the process is gonna go real smooth. We’re anxious to get in the studio together and make this whole thing happen.”
The Atlanta-based MC (real name Shad Gregory Moss) says he expects the resulting album “to be an event” when it’s released. “I’m not even calling it an album,” Bow Wow says. “It’s gonna be a special event. It’s gonna be crazy, something the people have been waiting on — the girls have been waiting on — for years.”
I’m a person and a girl, and I can’t say I’ve been waiting on this for years. I’m fully aware that elementary and junior high schoolers will knock down Best Buy’s doors when this album is released. But I bet they would like it better if half of the duo was Chris Brown. And it was a solo instead of a duo.

It will take more than a bit of weight gain marring his (arguable) sex appeal and a general loss of relevance to bring Usher’s infamous ego down a notch! In a recent interview with MTV, the erstwhile Prince of Poppy R&B issued a warning to those upstart crooners — I suppose that means Chris Brown, Omarion, Ne-yo, and Lloyd — that he’s coming back to show them their place. And also bitter about them not showing him proper respect. Something tells me they don’t care.
