Rush Hour 3 premiered yesterday at Mann’s Chinese Theater (where else?!?) in LA. I don’t need to see it to know that it will likely be as wildly successful as the last two and that Chris Tucker will disappear from the big screen again until it’s time to film installment No. 4. It all seems more than a little excessive to me, but Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett all thought it was necessary to throw David and Victoria Beckham a lavish, star-studded “Welcome to America” party yesterday at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Geffen Contemporary gallery in LA. Children of the ’80s and, well, children in general, have spoken. The wildly successful Transformers movie and the animated Ratatouille came in at numbers 1 and 2 on the holiday weekend box office, with the sci-fi throwback earning $67.6 million after having a record opening last Tuesday.
The combination of ’80s nostalgia, women wanting to see Tyrese and Josh Duhamel all sweaty and heroic, and the hoilday must have brought movie-goers out in full force. Check out the rest of the weekend box office after the jump.

In 1995, before he was really annoying, before he was , before he was 1/3 of TGT, and before he starred in Transformers, which had a opening Tuesday, he was little Tyrese Gibson, singing an ode to Coke on a city bus. I tend to frown upon loud, rude singing on public transportation, but it obviously worked quite well for him.
Dear Mr. Gibson,
I contemplated giving you a bit of a break, if only because the announcement and subsequent public appearances of your new super(ridiculous)group, TGT, have brought me so much amusement. But the thing is, although you are talented — good singer, passable actor — you fall kind of short when it comes to personality.
You’re egotistical. You think you’re God’s gift to women. You may have beaten your pregnant girlfriend (now fiancee). You want to ban men from your TGT “Shirt’s Off” tour on the off chance that a gay guy catches your sweat-soaked wifebeater. And, as with most talented people who have annoying personalities, your career accomplishments are often overshadowed by your obnoxiousness. Work on it.

I looked through all of the pictures from the Transformers movie premiere in Hollywood yesterday, and I noticed that star Tyrese did not invite Ginuwine and Tank (the rest of TGT) to celebrate with him. I understand. He probably wants to keep his moderately successful movie career separate from his less-than-stellar music career. More pics from the premiere after the jump.
I know, I know. This post is about T.I.’s album release party in LA yesterday, but I am so excited to see TGT all together in one picture that I had to make it the lead. Unfortunately, they are not in the same order as their group name, but they are a relatively new threesome, so I will cut them some slack. What better way to commemorate Father’s Day than to choose which celebrity you would most like to have out-of-wedlock children with? That’s what they’re doing over at Black America Web! They have a handy poll where all the unmarriage-minded women out there can vote on the celebrity they would like to have unprotected sex with while ovulating! Among the gems they picked out for the “Baby Daddy” poll were Tyrese, who was recently in the news for allegedly hitting his pregnant girlfriend, Mos Def, who has about 8 million kids already, and Allen Iverson, who has been arrested for domestic issues.
Interestingly, this is under the “Home & Family” section of Black America Web. It’s completely appropriate. Happy Baby Daddy Day!
