Stepha Henry. Ring a bell? The name does for me, but probably because I live in New York and she, a young college graduate who went missing on a Memorial Day trip to Miami, is also from here. The reason I think I probably wouldn’t have heard of her otherwise is because she’s black, and, well, missing black females just don’t have the same cache as the missing white ones, do they? Anyway, hers is the same sad story of so many missing young, white, educated females with bright futures that we hear about on the news, but her skin color is probably not light enough to justify the airtime. Everyone knows missing blonds get better ratings.

shouts to John Henry for bringing this to light on the morning MSNBC show…and I pray that she returns to safety and this story doesn’t end tragically. We always need to be careful of our surroundings, travel in groups, and always let someone know where you are at all times. I read somewhere that this young lady had gotten separated from the group and that she was with an unidentified black male that no one in her circle knew. This goes for men and women…there are certain steps that we can take to try to avoid problems like these. It just hurts my heart, b/c so often these are young people with promising futures.

Men are actually more likely to be reported missing. Not just that. Ugly people get abducted. Plain looking people get adopted. Non-whites get abducted. People over 30 get abducted. I guess you have to be 18-29, rich with blond hair and blue eyes preferably to get any coverage. Otherwise, you better rescue your own damn self.
Shoshana Jackson was taken hostage in the same attack as Jessica Lynch. No one covered her black ass.
Shoshana Johnson. Sorry
CNN has been running stories for a couple of days now.
I watched CNN for about an hour and a half straight today. Didn’t see it.
I bet Nancy Grace didn’t cover that shit, but she gave a Natalee Holloway update last week. Update: nothing yet.
I watch CNN in the mornings when I am getting ready for work and that’s where I initially saw it. They loop everything. I saw it 2x in the span of getting ready either yestdersay or the day before. Would like me to put that on somethin’, Daria? LOL.
Forgot to add that Nancy Grace will never do anything unless she has to. She won’t say boo about it until viewers get on her. I can’t figure out if she is good or a vulture. Leaning towards the latter.
