Floetry as we used to know it has ceased to exist — Destiny’s Child-style — and I’m not sure about how I feel about the revised version. Original member Natalie Stewart is out and has been replaced by MTV VJ Amanda Diva.
She and singer Marsha Ambrosius performed for the first time as a duo last night in Boston, with Diva spitting her own rhymes over Floetry’s existing songs. They also reportedly have a bunch of new songs they’ll be performing on their Floetry Remixed tour.
The reason for the group’s breakup is unknown, and Amanda Diva has cryptically said, “In due time folks will know.” Is Natalie feeling like LeToya and LaTavia right about now?

I think our minds were linked for a minute, Lauren. Just as I posted the off-topic thing, you must have been putting this up!
I cannot tell you how sad this makes me. I have had the pleasure of seeing the original Floetry many times. I saw them in NYC, and they put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen in my life. And, as I said on YBF, Marsha is the business(!). Her voice is on some other ish, dude. Love her to death!! Marsha and Natalie have a vibe that cannot be reproduced with a new member. I sincerely believe that. Damn! I caint neva have nuthin!
They are performing at Love tonite…we’ll see how it goes
Update: Heard the performance was bad. Really bad. Said Amanda Diva’s raps weren’t good and that she mostly stood on the stage waiting for her turn. I guess for their second show together, they have a lot of fine-tuning for this relationship to continue forward.
[…] figure those mourning the loss of Floetry (as we know it) need some neo-soul to cheer them […]
