This time, Kanye West might have a point. He’s pissed about getting treated like a second-tier celeb at the VMAs last night. Why was he banished to that weird suite performance room instead of getting the main stage? Britney, whose general presence at the awards horrified Kanye enough as it was, got the main room. The prop guys probably didn’t have enough Kanye glasses to give out to the entire audience.
“Kanye was watching the closing performance [a medley featuring Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado] on a closed-circuit monitor, and he started getting upset,” a source who was backstage told MTV News. “He started asking anyone who’d listen why he wasn’t allowed to perform on the main stage. ‘Why did I perform in just a suite?’ he was saying. ‘Justin’s my boy, but even he gets to perform in both a suite and on the main stage? Something’s wrong here.’ ”
According to a story filed by The Associated Press, West was also upset about being shut out of all five categories he was nominated in. He reportedly yelled, “That’s two years in a row, man … I’m trying hard, man, I have the … #1 record, man.”
AP also reported that West claimed he would “never return to MTV.”
Besides his performance beef, the rest is just sour grapes. An awards show isn’t really an awards show if Kanye West is happy with everything.

Well…Britney got the main stage b/c it was supposed to be her comeback - the fact that she blew it isn’t MTV’s issue so I understand why she got the billing that she did. HOWEVER…the closing with Justin, that fool Timberland and Nelly “identity crisis” Furtado was so wack. Kanye rightfully should have beef with that.
Sadly, a lot of the suite performances were A LOT better than what was happening on stage.
