Kenan Thompson has pledged to lose about weight to play a marginally effective Barack Obama in Saturday Night Live’s political parodies, but unfortunately, he won’t be accompanied by an equally mismatched actress to play Michelle Obama. That’s right, Maya Rudolph, who usually bears the burden of playing every multicultural woman on SNL, won’t be returning for another season.
Alert the makeup staff — it’s time to break out the shoe polish.

I don’t think Tina Fey is on SNL anymore full-time? That’s a good question though?? SNL needs to come to terms with this harrowing fact: they must hire more black actors. *gasp*
SNL burns me up. Correct me if I’m wrong, but they haven’t have a brown skinned black woman in the cast since Ellen Kleghorn. They saddled skinny, light skinned Maya with playing everyone from Donatella Versace, to Oprah to freaking Scott Joplin. She probably left because she was sick of being ethnically pigeon holed. What’d you say Kanye? Right, “SNL doesn’t care about black people.”
Tina Fey left SNL for good like two years ago.
SNL is not funny anymore. I remember sitting in my dorm one weekend years ago (I was sick) watching tv. I was channel surfing and came across SNL. I had no idea they were even still creating new episodes. The show blows!!
I did watch “D*ck in the Box” on YouTube though.
Apparently, Maya was just holding out for more money because she’s back on the show.
Good for her. Get that money. I applaud women who are willing to walk when they aren’t being properly rewarded.
SNL is not funny!!! it NEVER has been (except for eddie murphy’s run but that was 20+ years ago) the fact that it’s 2007 and they STILL only have 2 minority ppl to play EVEY minority charactheris disgusting! i dont see why black actors want to join that cast! the skits are too long! the jokes are not funny! now MAD TV, is funny!!
