T.I. might have disappointed thousands of young, impressionable fans when he was napped over a week ago illegally purchasing machine guns, but there’s at least one person whose feelings about him remain as strong as ever. That person is Wyclef Jean. Here are his words.

“We definitely clicked in the studio,” Wyclef said. “I vouch for the kid in the sense that I think he was one of the smartest rising stars in not [just] the music industry, but the world. I watched him on ‘Hip-Hop vs. America,’ and I saw the way he was talking just like Malcolm X. The conversation started getting deeper and deeper. And I think he has influence. When he speaks, it moves a whole generation.”

T.I. really reminds you of the venerable Malcolm X, Wycelf? More like Detroit Red.

T.I. and Nelly were immature and excuse-ridden on that Hip Hop vs. America special. It was a waste of 2 hours for us and them.
To compare T.I. to Malcolm X is a total disgrace and just goes to show how ignorant this current brand of “rappers” are. Wyclef need to sit his azz down somewhere.

The fact that Wyclef can attempt to compare TI to Malcolm X underlines the lunacy of young Black Americans today. TI is a rapper, and in my opinion not a very good one, but hey art is in the eye of the beholder.

Nonetheless, this only reinforces the actuality that we need to hear more under 45 year old voices of Black Men than rappers, singers, actors and athletes. There is MUCH more to the male Black voice than what the media puts forward.

Seriously, Wyclef just took talking out your ass to a whole new level…this reminds me of that Fresh Prince episode were Will was all hype about Malcom X but in reality knew nothing about him…I’m really afraid for our youth

I really do wish we could hear more from Black males that aren’t just trying to profit off of the situation but are actually trying to solve problems in the community…I know you guys are out there but not enough kids are hearing you…
