I really didn’t think they had it in them. Here’s the great news: the Sex and the City big screen adaptation won’t be as white-washed as the series.

Hudson, who’s in final negotiations, will portray the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw. Pic revolves around the lives of the four main “Sex and the City” characters, four years after the time frame of the finale of the HBO series, which wrapped its six-year run in 2004.

Pic will begin shooting in New York on Sept. 19.

Not so great news: When rabid SATC fans go see this movie, will they really be checking for J.Hud? To take it one step further, is anyone really, truly excited about this movie? The era kind of ended with the last episode — what more is there to say?

All I know is, Jennifer better Sarah-Jessica-Parker her contract (and include a no-bolero clause) so that she can keep all the clothes.

When I first saw this I thought, dang, why does the Oscar winner have to play the assistant? I mean, I know she’s a novice and all (and I didn’t really think she deserved the Oscar) but why does she have to be the white woman’s assistant? Can’t she be a colleague? Boss, even? I mean, really. This looks like tokenism.

I’m out the loop. I don’t even watch American Idol, and I never saw Dreamgirls (looked like a girly movie). So late pass please. I had to look this Queen up, on google. She is absolutely gorgeous. The roll may not be desirable, but it’s clear that this sister is trying to keep her face on peoples minds. She’s doing by all means necessary.

It’s blasphemy to talk bad about SITC. Yes, the REAL fans are excited. No, I could care less that J Hud is in the movie. I could care less if there are any black ppl in the movie at all. I just want a SITC movie. Political correctness be damned. Sorry.

Gee. Oscar winner plays assistant for horse-faced overrated actress. C’mon J Hud. You can do so much better.

You’re right Lauren. This shit’s old and played out. I’m looking forward to Cashmere Jungle. It’s got Lucy Liu at least. It’s smart and these middle-aged women aren’t whoring themselves out to the first guy who buys them a drink.
