And Not In A Good Way

Much to his chagrin, I’m sure, Bill O’Reilly has failed in his attempt to kick Nas out of the Virginia Tech Back-to-School concert. He should be pleased to know, however, that at least one college administrator (albeit in Canada) that Nas is a violent, dangerous gangta rapper who will corrupt the minds of adult students at an upcoming Rock the Vote Concert. A vice-president at Ontario’s Carlton University said their concert venue has a strict anti-hip hop policy for “security reasons.”

The purpose of the Rock the Vote show is to encourage concertgoers to vote in an Oct. 10 election in Ontario.

In light of discussions that took place with the venue since July, Cockburn said the students were surprised by the centre’s decision to not hold the show and added that preliminary arrangements for security, lighting and sound were also made…Although they were told that their choice of musical act had to be cleared with the centre, Cockburn stated the students didn’t think they would have any problems with having Nas, since a hard rock band had played at the centre last September.

Nevertheless, the group said they were told that the rapper was the reason why they could not use the venue.

If only to save face, Bill O’Reilly, who probably had very little do so with this, is probably running a victory lap around the Fox News offices.

It’s amazing to see the on-going stigma that surrounds hip hop. Nas has written songs like The World Is yours and I Can. The man is real, but he is positive at the same time. He isn’t contributing to anything other than the uplifting of young minds, and the promotion of awareness for the Black struggle. Keep shinin’ Nas.

Well, in fairness to Bill O Reilly, the dude does rap about shooting people. Sure to us black folk that means nothing, but to the average person, especially at VA Tech after the shooting spree, it may not seem like a bit much.

The hell does that mean? Black people aren’t average people now? You come off as a real suspect type a cat. Same recognize Same my brother and you are starting to look awfully unfamilar right now. Fox didn’t have shit to say when Charleton Heston held a NRA meeting in Columbine, the following week of the school shooting. Fox doesn’t complain about the equally offensive rock groups out there, that spread the same negativity.

Fox has a reputation for their disparging skew of the Black community image, in the media. Why defend people who already have an agenda, to view everything about your culture, even the postive aspects, in a potentially questionable light? Do you ever watch things like Hannity and Colmes? They revel in getting strong Black figures up there, only to confuse them and make them appear hypocritical. And when they aren’t doing that, they get on Brothers who are quick to turn tail and join in on demonizing us. Where are your priorities?

I was going to argue against Keepin It Real’s ignorance and side with Spendi’s eloquent arguments but then I clicked on KIR’s name, the link to his page and was greeted with the title “I Hare Saasy Black Women” and a post entitled the following: ‘Post Here To Share Your Stories About Sassy Black Women’

with this underneath it:

‘Co-workers, bad customer service, girlfriend, wife, whatever, no matter how the PC crowd pretends, we all know that black women have unbearable attitudes except for masochists who enjoy pain.

Here is a safeplace to vent when you want to rant about black women.’

So now I know where his head is at. And I do not feel the need to address him.

I mean seriously, dude. WTF? I watched that film posted on his page as well, which is sexist anti-black, propaganda. KIR by all means have your issues (and white girls) but please do not project all your stuff onto every black woman.

Is “he” a black man? That site seemed like something a very, very bitter non-black woman would do b/c she hates black women, just had her man snatched by one or is getting bullied in the girls bathroom between 2nd and 3rd period by some sassiness. Suspect.

I appreciate the eloquence compliment. I just hope that my Black Queens realize that there is a very well defined line between a real Brother like me, and some Tom nigga like KeepinItReal. He’s busy catchin’ feelings and blaming Black females for his problems as a man, rather than trying to figure out why the problem may be himself.
