But Just In His New Video

Finally, a new video I can stand behind! Not T-Pain in whiteface. Or Nelly being annoying. Or Ja Rule being trite.

We have Common, both handsome and hatless, which I didn’t know was possible, Kanye, Derek Luke, Alicia Keys, Serena Williams, and of course, Kerry Washington, who starred as the slightly stalkerish ex-girlfriend and directed the video for “I Want You,” which may or may not have inspired her and Common to get together in real life. How could the video not work?

“Slightly” stalkerish? With that look on her face, I’d say she’s full out stalking him.

This is the jam. It plays right after that song with Lily Allen on the cd. I love it!

Btw, that wig that Alicia had on in the movie was the shit.

This video is creatively sweet on all levels. Kerry Washingston is one actress to watch, I hope she gets an Oscar one day. Alicia Keys looks totally glam and Common looks so cool.

Kerry is a great actress and she did a great job with the video. Got the jilted, heartbroken ex thing mastered (not from personal experience I hope). Bonus points for running mascara-eye liner. Nothing says this-b—-has-snapped quite like twin streams of black ink running down a woman’s face. So deliciously emo.

Oh, and Alicia needs to beg Kerry to be her shopping buddy. Alicia is talented but it all stops short of dressing herself well. Meryl Streep disease.

Very good video, its about time though. tired of the cheap videos they put out nowadays which consist of hoes and cars. Wish people would take videos back to the early Hype Williams days when thought was actually put into the video concept. Only person that does that now seems to be Bryan Barber.

The interaction in this video is so organic, you can really be convinced that these people are all friends in reality. Kerry was great, Alicia was gorgeous and Common, well, he was heavenly.
