Do You Care Who Your Favorite Rapper Votes For?

Common recently made a video encouraging young people to vote for Barack Obama. And while Common is certainly well-loved, does his candidate preference make any difference to you? Let me know after the jump.

No. 1 Demetria says:

Celeb endorsements don’t impact how I will vote, but they do make me see the celebs as thinking, active community members as opposed to just being eye-candy or totally “Hollyweird.” It’s good to have a brain and not be afraid to use it.

It doesn’t impact what kind of shampoo, make up, etc. that I use. If I won’t buy Missy Elliot’s choice of snack chips, why on earth would I let her and her peers determine who will run the world? Is it irrelevant? Yes. the people who depend on celebs to tell them what to do are nowhere near the polls on election day.

Hearing him say ‘Obama is down for us’ just makes me sort of sad. Would the same be said if Obama was not black?

Aside from that, I just love loking at Common.
