A TGT Appetizer

Feeling like you’re gonna die waiting for the R&B explosion that is TGT to take the stage this fall? Well, one-third of the self-styled supergroup released his album last week, and it debuted in second on the Billboard charts.

I couldn’t sing you a Tank song that’s not “I Deserve,” but apparently the people behind TGT were onto something here with the Shirts Off Tour. The (initial) success of the album should drive up ticket sales, although Tyrese and Ginuwine are probably pissed that they didn’t think of the album name Sex, Love & Pain first.

Artist, Record, Peak Position, Number of Weeks on the Charts
1. Linkin Park, Minutes To Midnight, 1, 1
2. Tank, Sex, Love & Pain, 2, 1
3. Michael Buble, Call Me Irresponsible, 1, 3
4. Wilco, Sky Blue Sky, 4, 1
5. Gretchen Wilson, One Of The Boys, 5, 1
6. Avil Lavigne, The Best Damn Thing, 1, 5
7. Ne-Yo, Because of You, 1, 3
8. Megadeth, United Abominations, 8, 1
9. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Strength & Loyalty, 2, 2
10.Daughtry, Daughtry, 1, 26

I can’t front, I wasn’t expecting Joe or Tank to make such nice splashes on the charts. However, I’m sure Tank will be nowhere to be found next week.

Who are half these people? I watch vH1 and I’ve never seen a video for Gretchen Wilson, Megadeth or Wilco. Some of these songs are just plain terrible regardless of your taste in music.

I don’t care if they are closet-case has-beens. They look good.
