Trust Me, I'm Obama

What do you do when everyone is criticizing you for having too little political experience? Take that criticism and flip it into a positive. Short resume = short time spent in Washington = anti-Washington = trustworthy. Hey, don’t knock it until it’s proven not to have worked.

Campaigning in Manchester, N.H. today, Barack Obama unveiled his plan to make the federal government more transparent, including national broadband town hall meetings — he’s calling them “21st Century Fireside Chats” — that he says his Cabinet will hold with the American people…

“The American people want to trust in our government again — we just need a government that will trust in us,” Obama said, according to his campaign. “And making government accountable to the people isn’t just a cause of this campaign — it’s been a cause of my life for two decades.”

21st Century Fireside Chats? How quaint. But really — what do you have to say about your skimpy political experience?

Fireside chats. Great. I can just see the first one now….
“Good evening fellow Americans I hope this movie set living room and fireplace mesmerizes you because I have an important announcement: I don’t know what the hell I’m doing. On the bright side - I’ve gotten some very promising leads from the people who answered my ad on craigslist for domestic (policy) help.”

LOL. I went to a festival in Oakland over the weekend and met with the Hillary for President Oakland chapter’s head. She was a black woman - in fact there were several black women working the booth which inspired me to put my money where my mouth is and volunteer for her campaign. I must have been running my mouth b/c one woman stopped me and said, “oh, yes, we’re putting YOU on the phones!” The Hillary booth and the Obama booth were right across from each other, but none of the people working them acknowledged the other’s existence. And no one at either booth would mention the other candidate’s name kind of like Voldemort (the one who shall not be named!). It was very odd. But that’s politics I guess.

Oh, Obama, I want to like you, I want you to convince me that you know what the hell you’re doing. I WANT TO BELIEVE!! But I don’t and you haven’t done anything to change that.

I read Michelle’s interview in Essence. I went from loving her to slightly disliking her. Maybe it was a bad interview or she doesn’t know how to pick her words well.

Americans want a transparent government in theory, but very few genuinely want to know what’s going on. Hell, if all was going well, I probably wouldn’t care like many other US Americans.

Still ridin with dude until the wheels fall off. I find it hard to believe that anyone in Washington knows what they are doing.

Not sure whether to vote for Hillary or Obama yet but I do know that ANYONE or ANYTHING will be better in office than George Bush.

JillyBean819, please go to Fred Thompson’s website and review his positions. We would all think that until we review the man’s stance on positions. And people have been looking for him to enter the race for ever. He’s definitely going to be top 3 now that he’s announced his candidacy which speaks volumes about right-leaning Americans. I’m a bit fiscally conservative, but I’m not about to start WWIII and turn back time 150 years for the sake of tax breaks.
