Famous-over-there BBC radio host Sarah Kennedy is in trouble in the U.K., and all because she was concerned about the safety of black people when they cross the street at night. Some people are so touchy.
“That’s not just children,” she said. “You know what happened to me yesterday. It was this black guy. It’s lucky he opened his mouth to yawn or do something and I saw him. He was wearing a black hat, black clothes and he was just invisible…”
In 2000, the BBC was forced to apologise when, during a discussion about genetics, she suggested that black people made good runners because they were used to being chased by lions.

Uh, these could easily be conversations at my family’s dinner table. My great aunt adopted their neighbor’s orphaned kids and one is “pitch black,” but he has very white eye balls and teeth. This manages to come up yearly. His biological sister would definitely get into the light skinned girls party. Ah genetics.
As for her comments on BBC, it’s either lions or tigers or slave traders (their explanation as to why West Africans outrun African-Americans). Of course, there’s a difference between drunken conversation at one’s dinner table with family and a declaration on TV. I’m not saying her statements aren’t fishy but they certainly aren’t unique.
Not lions, silly, the police.
Now ya’ll no we say the same thing…daria, my family and friends don’t even drink…for instance, a co-worker was describing her boyfriend to me…she said, girl, he’s so black he has to smile at night for me to see him…I just sat with my mouth open (my mom told me long ago I’m too light to laugh or be in agreement with such things. lol)
where do they find these idiots?
I have heard that same joke about blacks in the darks so many times from black comedians.
I have to ask though: is she a DJ or a reporter? If she’s a serious journalist, then I understand the back lash.
