My name’s Lauren, and I’m the editor of Stereohyped, your new favorite black-interest blog.
Stereohyped isn’t a gossip blog, although I’ll give you a lot of it — I’m a little obsessed with celebrity news. It’s not an entertainment blog, although we will discuss music, books, movies and television several times a week. This is not a racism watchdog or a doom & gloom current events blog, but I will go there on occasion (it’s kind of unavoidable, this being America and all). It’s also not a political blog or a fashion and beauty blog. Stereohyped is not one of these things. It’s all of them.
There’s not a Web site I’ve found that offers the latest dish on the newest hip hop and R&B couple (Omarion and Rihanna are kinda cute, Keyshia Cole and Jeezy, not so much), spring fashion trends, hot new books, and Barack Obama’s energy policy all in one place. I’m sure I won’t please everyone all the time, but my goal is to provide a one-stop destination where you can find info relevant to the black community that gets downplayed or completely ignored in the mainstream media. I’m sure you guys will let me know when I’m missing something.
Have fun reading, and come back!
Thanks for the blog, it is fabulous! As an educated black woman, I love some gossip, but I need some substance too. Thanks for providing this outlet and I look forward to see what the future holds for this blog. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this most appreciated blog.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOUR BLOG!!!!! And you look faaaabulous.
yay, i’ve been waiting for this! now i can cut out perezhilton and ybf and maybe even a little bit of cnn, too, and just do it all in one stop! super exciting.
Thank goodness!!! I can’t wait to see what you have in store. It’s about time one of us had a smart, funny and informed blog.
Cool blog, cool content.
Thanks for the invite. I like the balance of politics, cultural news, and whatever. And, I like the intelligence factor of this blog too.
Good job grrl!

Super Fabulous! I can’t wait to keep up on things that are happening. I don’t always have time, nor the attention span. Having a single place to read up on issues and events with a twist is marvalous. Wavy TV has its limits.Congratulations and Buena Suerte!
This blog is fantastic. Something to guiltlessly savor while at work
I’m sure I’ll comment on every single film related post!
This is great! I love great blogs and I’m not afraid to give my two cents, so you won’t have to worry about comments. Adding “Stereohyped” to my blog roll right now!!
This is my new daily stop to stay on top of “what’s happening”! Great job Lauren!
nice…bookmarked your blog..
Lauren, you’re an AWESOME SUPERSTAR and Stereohyped is my new crack. Thank you for sharing your wit, wisdom and snarkery with the blogosphere.

Great…another “black celebrity blog” for me to kill time reading at work.
Just kidding…*
Though it is the first one I ever signed up for…
Good luck with the website…I’ll keep in touch with my criticisms/praises/comments.
